Alex Pickett is a journalist and creative writer based out of Florida. His work has appeared in local and regional publications across the country, including Creative Loafing, Orlando Weekly, Chandler Independent, Arizona Republic, New Haven Advocate and Connecticut Post.
Currently, he works for Courthouse News Service and freelances for local and national publications.
As a reporter, Alex investigated zoos, police departments and homelessness. He has written award-winning features on a non-violent drug offender serving a life sentence and the effects of gentrification on a historic African-American neighborhood.
